The Position
At Toyota Material Handling Europe we are expanding the reach and impact of our European R&D organisation. As Head of R&D Capability & Partnerships, you join the R&D Management Team. You support our R&D Directors by helping them understand and engage the engineering audience more deeply and you make sure our people strategy becomes an integrated part of how we deliver the overall R&D strategy. Your mission is to build the capabilities, culture and external partnerships that make innovation possible. The role may require occasional travel, primarily within Europe.
Your Responsibilities
- Shape and lead the long-term strategy to attract, engage and retain technical and engineering talent across TMHE’s European footprint
- Support R&D Directors with insights, tools and initiatives that help them communicate effectively with engineers and grow strong teams
- Partner with HR to enable career progression and knowledge-sharing opportunities for engineers across R&D.
- Build and maintain an external development network with sister companies, universities and innovation partners to strengthen future competence
- Represent TMHE R&D in external arenas to elevate our brand among engineers and drive collaboration opportunities
- Drive recruitment marketing and reputation building focused on key technical audiences
- Design and manage programmes for internal mobility, mentoring, technical career tracks and leadership development
- Use data and feedback to guide decisions, track engagement and improve outcomes across R&D sites
- Contribute actively to the R&D Management Team by bringing a people and capability perspective to strategic decisions
