Background and purpose
How can a European organisation develop the capabilities it needs to keep pace with change?
Rapid technological development, AI and digitalisation are reshaping skill requirements and creating new demands on how organisations develop their people.
At TMHE, we want to explore how organisational learning can better support business priorities, innovation and long-term adaptability across our European organisation.
The purpose of this thesis is to provide a research-based foundation for a future European Learning and Capability Strategy.
Thesis description
Building on academic research, external benchmarking and insights from our organisation, you will:
- Investigate how emerging technologies, future skills needs and research on organisational learning are influencing capability development.
- Explore how selected organisations approach continuous learning and connect it to business strategy.
- Assess current learning practices within an agreed organisational scope, identifying strengths, development opportunities and potential barriers.
- Develop evidence-based recommendations for a European Learning and Capability Strategy, including proposed priorities and a high-level roadmap for future development.
Your findings will help inform strategic decisions about how TMHE can strengthen learning and capability development across Europe.
We are looking for two Master's students studying in one of the following fields:
- Human Resource Management and Development (HRM/HRD)
- Organisational Development or Organisational Psychology
- Business Administration, Strategy or Management
- Industrial Management
- Learning Sciences or a related field
- You have a strong interest in organisational learning, future skills and the relationship between people development and business performance. You enjoy exploring complex questions, combining research with practical business insights and presenting your findings clearly in English.
Beneficial skills (not mandatory)
- Familiarity with qualitative research methods, such as interviews and thematic analysis.
- Experience with benchmarking, literature reviews or organisational research.
- Knowledge of strategic HR, capability development or change management.
